Treatment

Peg teeth

The lateral incisors can develop differently and present with a conical shape.

Case 1

Case 2

Patient presented with a cone-shaped lateral incisor. In this case, the patient opted for a composite veneer.

Treatment

Pointy canines

The smile’s curvature is altered in situations where the position and shape of the canines make them more prominent and pointed. This can be corrected with composite bonding with no drilling to the teeth, masking the canines.

Case 1

In the case, the patient had a smile where his canines drew a lot of attention due to their pointed nature.

The patient opted for six composite veneers with no drilling, which increased the length of the four incisors and masked the length of the canines.

Treatment

Enamel Defect

During the formation of your teeth, some changes can occur that will affect the look of your teeth, whether that is to its shape, colour, size, texture, etc. Composite is a highly recommended material for treatment in these cases.

Case 1

A young patient presented with enamel deformities to the six anterior superior teeth and the six lower front teeth. The patient opted for six composite veneers to the superior teeth and six more to the lower teeth without any drilling or preparations to the teeth.

Case 2

Patient presented with yellow stains in some teeth due to a malformation of the enamel that affected the look of her smile. She opted for composite veneers over the two superior central incisors and the three affected lower incisors. In this case, a small amount of drilling was necessary at the location of the stains.

Case 2

Patient presented with yellow stains in some teeth due to a malformation of the enamel that affected the look of her smile. She opted for composite veneers over the two superior central incisors and the three affected lower incisors. In this case, a small amount of drilling was necessary at the location of the stains.

Case 3

White stains are very common and can vary in size and intensity. In this case, the white stains were very prominent on her central teeth, and her right canine was also short and crooked, which bothered her a lot. The patient opted for eight composite veneers. These were done without any drilling to the teeth.

Treatment

Alignment

Some patients are not interested in orthodontic options for aligning their teeth. In these cases, an option is the use of composite as either a permanent or temporary solution. Depending on the level of crowding, a small amount of drilling to the teeth’s enamel might be necessary in order to establish the form and alignment.

Case 1

Patient presented with short and misaligned lateral teeth. In this case, the extra gum gave the lateral teeth a shorter appearance. Surgery was done to remove this. After healing, two composite veneers were done to the lateral teeth.

Case 2

This patient presented with slightly crowded central incisors and prominent canines. She already had composite veneers done on her central teeth many years ago. She had tooth decay between these teeth and abrasion injuries near the gums.

Four composite veneers were done to the central and lateral teeth, making them more aligned with the canines and concealing the crowding. Composite bonding was applied to the canines only in the abrasion injury areas near the gums. The entirety of this process was done in one clinical session.
